Empowering Change, One Life at a Time

The Possible Development Organization (PDO) was officially registered and granted legal status under registry number 7552 on December 18, 2024, as a local organization. This initiative was founded to address the gaps in social and economic services that the government has been unable to fill, aiming to foster a sense of purpose and conscience within the community. PDO focuses on supporting children and women, particularly in alleviating the social crises faced by girls and women. Our mission is to create educational opportunities and foster an economically developed and independent society where vulnerable groups can actively participate in political processes. Through collaboration with government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and private investors, PDO is dedicated to transforming individuals into well-educated and ethically responsible members of society. By planning and implementing programs that the government has yet to achieve, PDO seeks to make a meaningful impact. We are proud to have received our legal certificate, and we are actively seeking funding to fulfill our objectives.

Caritas Switzerland successfully conducted a transformative training session on the "DO NO HARM" approach
From March 10 to March 12, 2026, Caritas Switzerland successfully conducted a transformative training session on the "DO NO HARM" approach, facilitated by experienced trainers Sarah Buss and John Okanga. This three-day event brought together a diverse group of participants, including representatives from various organizations focused on peacebuilding and conflict resolution, as well as possible development organization  representative from Development Organizations, enriching discussions and fostering a collaborative learning environment. The training covered an extensive range of topics, including the history of local capacities for peace, conflict analysis through detailed case studies, and understanding the interplay between initiatives and existing conflict situations. Participants engaged in actor mapping to identify the roles of different stakeholders involved in conflicts and explored intergroup relationships through two analytical frameworks. Additionally, programming and options development encouraged practical strategies for enhancing peacebuilding efforts. The strong participation and active engagement underscored the crucial importance of DO NO HARM principles in mitigating tensions and preventing violent conflict. Attendees recognized how these strategies could significantly strengthen local capacities for peace while reducing the potential for conflict escalation. Overall, the training program played a vital role in enhancing awareness and understanding of conflict-sensitive approaches, with Development Organization representatives highlighting a collaborative effort towards promoting peace and stability in impacted areas. Caritas Switzerland remains committed to fostering peace and resilience in communities affected by conflict, and this training session exemplifies our dedication to empowering local actors to navigate complex situations while prioritizing the well-being of all communities.
